Life and Health Insurance Account Manager


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Prepares, processes, and provides follow-up for new business and/or existing business, including updating the client management system (activities, plans, etc.);

  • Quote Medical, Dental, Vision, Ancillary lines of coverage

  • Explain policy coverage in depth, understand insurance plans and guidelines

  • New business submission with various carriers, knowledge in requirements.

  • Benefit administration and explain benefit coverage to plan administrators and employees.



  • Maintains control of renewal expiration (minimum of 120 days out) and coordinates open enrollments/meetings with client;



  • Provides support to sales staff with renewal proposals and/or marketing proposals;



  • Process and follow-up on client enrollments, terminations, changes and late-pay notices, as well as update client management system activities on a timely basis;



  • Provides service to assigned accounts (claim research, technical questions, billing issues, etc.) coordinating with producer to maintain client information and achieve optimal results;



  • Pro-actively engages clients with monthly service calls; cross sell additional products (Home, auto, boat, ancillary lines);



  • Reach out to potential clients during periodic sales initiatives;



  • Meet on-site or off-site with existing or new clients;



  • Quotes prospects as a result from incoming calls, internal referrals or account rounding;



  • Stay up-to-date with information and changes regarding ACA, the Affordable Care Act, also known as Health Care Reform;



  • Knowledgeable in Family Medical Leave, ADA, Workers Compensation and other Human Resource functions



  • Maintain required Medicare credentials.



  • Performs advanced level, diversified, and confidential administrative duties for the office;



  • Effectively utilizes technology while following workflow and standards established by the agency;



  • Drafts and composes correspondence for Department Manager as needed. Assists Department Manager as needed with claims and enrollments;



  • Independently completes special projects and selected research activity as needed.



  • Provides front-desk telephone coverage and mail delivery as backup on an as needed-basis;



  • Other related duties as assigned.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Must be extremely well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently as well as with others;



  • Must be able to follow work process independently;



  • Strong customer service acumen is critical;



  • Operates with diplomacy and tact and is able to multi-task with an ability to meet tight deadlines;



  • Must be able to ask for more information when necessary;



  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; professional and polished demeanor;



  • Strong commitment to mission, goals and values of agency;



  • Excellent problem-solving skills through research and evaluation;



  • Accurate maintenance of client database;



  • Refers customer complaints and problems immediately;



  • Meets or exceeds performance expectations and goals;



  • Prior customer service skills are necessary.



  • Limited travel is required


 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


College graduate or above; 3-5 years


Exceptional customer service experience with a background.


Maintain Health and Life Connecticut Producer License.


Knowledge in agency client system, preferably in EPIC

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
